Privacy policy

What we collect

Our hosting service processes technical request information, such as IP address, browser information and requested URLs, to deliver and protect this website. URLs may include a destination or details from an earlier search. If you email us, we receive the information you include in that correspondence.

Our homepage, rental destination pages and rental-search pages embed the DiscoverCars form. When you open one of these pages, your browser connects to DiscoverCars and sends technical information such as your IP address and browser details. Information you enter in their widget, including your trip, country of residence and driver age, is handled by DiscoverCars. Booking and payment take place on their website; Wayfare does not collect card or driving licence details through a booking form.

Why we process it

We process website requests to provide the pages you ask for, protect the service and respond to enquiries. We rely on our legitimate interests in operating a secure website and answering correspondence, and comply with applicable legal obligations. DiscoverCars explains its own processing purposes and legal bases in its privacy policy.

Sharing

We do not sell personal data. We share data with infrastructure providers who host the site and its database. DiscoverCars operates its search and booking service separately. Its privacy policy explains how it shares data with rental companies, service providers and other recipients, and how to contact it about your data.

Cookies and affiliate tracking

The DiscoverCars widget loads on our homepage, rental destination pages and rental-search pages. DiscoverCars uses cookies and similar technologies for its service and referral tracking; its cookie policy explains the categories and available controls. We use Google Analytics to measure page visits, direct DiscoverCars link clicks and widget interactions. Widget interaction does not confirm a search or booking. Google Analytics uses cookies to distinguish visits. Google signals and advertising personalization are disabled. See Google’s privacy policy. Browser cookie controls may affect the provider search and referral attribution.

Affiliate links contain our referral ID and page or placement labels, not your name or email. DiscoverCars supplies affiliate reports used to reconcile referrals and commissions. These are distinct from the personal details you provide when booking with DiscoverCars.

Retention

Technical log retention depends on our hosting provider and its configured settings. Correspondence is retained as needed to handle your enquiry and any follow-up. Contact us for information about a specific request. DiscoverCars describes its own retention periods in its privacy policy.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or port your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise any of these, send the request through our contact form. You may also complain to your local data protection authority.
