Getting to and from Hawke's Bay Airport
Hawke's Bay Airport, often called Napier Airport, is at Westshore beside State Highway 2, about 6 km north-west of central Napier and roughly 20 km from Hastings.
goBay bus route 4 links the airport with the city centre, but it is infrequent, so most visitors take a taxi or pick up a rental car. The terminal café closes after the last departure of the evening.

Before your flight from Hawke's Bay Airport
- Check your flight's status before you set off and again on the way. Your airline's app or text alerts are the most direct source for gate and boarding changes.
- Check-in and bag-drop deadlines are set by each airline. Look them up on your booking rather than relying on a general rule.
- Returning a rental car? Allow extra time for the return inspection, refuel to the level your rental terms require, and keep the return receipt.
