Choose a Blenheim Airport rental around the branch handover and the part of your Marlborough trip that needs a car. A Saturday afternoon arrival can fit one company's published hours and fall outside another's. If your first days are in Blenheim, compare immediate airport collection with reaching your accommodation first and hiring later.

Blenheim Airport, Marlborough Airport and Woodbourne refer to BHE. The airport operator locates it at Woodbourne, about 7 km from central Blenheim. An airport reservation is different from a town pickup or a Picton branch, even when the company serves more than one of those places.

Counter pickup or an arranged handover?

Read the collection method before comparing offers. The airport directory names several suppliers and describes some offices as staffed around flights. That helps identify airport services, but does not establish the exact handover for every reservation.

Compare the weekend collection windows

A Saturday arrival late in the afternoon deserves particular attention: build in time to leave the aircraft and collect bags before comparing that handover with a closing time. If the flight is delayed, contact the branch using the details on your confirmation. An unattended return box does not establish unattended collection.

The airport directory labels Ezi as serving prebooked reservations only, while Ezi's own page says walk-ins depend on availability. Reserve in advance if the car is necessary for your onward plans; this guide does not promise that a walk-in vehicle will be available.

Return parking is separate from passenger drop-off

Use the official airport parking map to distinguish the car-rental area, general parking and terminal drop-off. The map is useful for orientation; follow your supplier's marked spaces and current instructions when returning.

Ezi's branch directions send returning drivers right at the roundabout, past the public car-park entrances and right into the rental car park. Its spaces are described as the fourth row. The keys go back to the walkway kiosk, with a drop box if the kiosk is unattended. Confirm an early return at collection and retain those directions for the final morning.

Do not transfer Ezi's parking row or key-box instructions to a Budget or RaD booking. Ask each company to identify its own return space, where the keys go and how you will receive confirmation of return. Allow time to unload, check the vehicle for belongings and walk to the terminal before airline check-in.

Decide which days need a car

An airport rental can suit a trip that continues directly into the Marlborough region or involves several stops that you want to arrange independently. If you plan to stay in one place initially, compare hiring for the later driving days with keeping a car parked from arrival.

The airport taxi and shuttle directory offers starting points for that comparison. Check whether the service reaches your accommodation at the time you arrive, how it handles luggage, and whether you need to reserve. Include the later journey to the chosen rental branch; an airport transfer does not also cover that second trip unless it is part of the arrangement.

The airport's bus information identifies an InterCity stop directly outside the terminal. It does not establish a frequent local shuttle to every hotel. Check your destination, date and actual coach departure before relying on it instead of a car.

For a Marlborough stay, compare these complete plans:

• Collect at BHE and keep the car through the driving part of your itinerary.
• Transfer to Blenheim first, then collect when you begin travelling further afield.
• End the rental before a final stay in town, including the return trip to the airport in your transport budget.

The shortest rental is not automatically the cheapest. Use quotes for the whole period and include parking and transfers, then weigh those costs against the extra handover time.

Picton and onward travel need their own arrangement

Blenheim Airport can be the start of a wider trip, but selecting a destination on a map does not confirm a one-way rental. If you plan to finish in Picton, Nelson or elsewhere, enter the exact return branch in your search and obtain a quote that accepts it.
