Getting to and from Montevideo Carrasco Airport
Carrasco International Airport is east of Montevideo, about 15 km from the city centre.
Public buses marked Montevideo leave from outside the terminal every 10 to 20 minutes and take about an hour to an hour and a half. COT intercity coaches stop at the airport in both directions, west to Tres Cruces bus station and east to Punta del Este, so check the direction before boarding.
Airport taxis are expensive, and currency exchange at the airport gives poor rates.
